GED Scholars Initiative

GED Student Organization
GED United Scholars (GUS)

Mission: The GED United Scholars is a special interest student organization formed by GED Scholars to share our experiences and offer social, academic, and professional support to each other through our educational journey.

Membership: The GED United Scholars is a diverse group with members of all ages, cultures, and backgrounds. Membership is open to all but voting rights are limited to GED Scholars. The only requirement for membership is a desire to establish a network of support for all GED Scholars.

Goal: The main goal of the organization is to change the negative stigma attached to earning a General Education Development (GED) by educating and bringing awareness to the University and the community that the GED is a credible alternative to a high school diploma.

Activities:

  • Monthly Meetings
  • The Ohio Writers and Poets Exhibition
  • Guest Speakers (Famous GED Scholars)
  • Activities and Events
  • Fundraising
  • Community Building
  • And lots more!!

New members are always welcome. You do not need to have a GED to be a member!
