GED Scholars Initiative

Stipends and Scholarships

Mission: The GED Scholars Initiative supports students by providing scholarships to help offset the financial burden.

Purpose: To assist with any expenses students may incur as Kent State students.

Other requirements include:

  • Must be an undergraduate at Kent State University.
  • Graduate of an Adult Basic and Literacy Education Program (ABLE) and/or student with an earned GED.
  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75.
  • Registered for at least 12 credit hours during semester of award.

Four scholarships are awarded to students in the fall and spring semesters for a total of eight $1,000.00 scholarships. The scholarships are highly selective due to the limited number given.
