About the Family Literacy Special Collection
The Family Literacy Special Collections provide electronic access to local and national materials of interest to people who work with families. In this collection of Family Literacy resources you will find many ways to search for information.
The Complete Site Index shows many listings to be explored. Categories such as What's New, Instructional Links, Professional Development, and Current Events and Information are readily available. These categories and brief annotations help users locate the kinds of resources they are seeking.
Adult educators, adult learners, and parents will find this site an excellent resource. Anyone interested in learning more about the dynamics of literacy in families will find this site of value.
The Core Knowledge Group for the Family Literacy Special Collection is an advisory group of subject experts who provide input and set policy for the project. They assist in the quality control of the Collection by ensuring that the selection criteria differentiate the high quality resources that should be selected for inclusion by locating and suggesting sites for review and by checking the progress of the site throughout the year. The members are:
- Stuart Rowe - Institute for the Study of Adult Literacy, Penn State Univ.
- Connie Sapin - Ohio Literacy Resource Center
- Kris Wyler - Stark County Even Start
- Janet Isserlis - Literacy Resource Rhode Island
- Marti Hampton - Arkansas Adult Learning Resource Center
