Peer Coaching Continuum
Peer coaches will engage with teachers and/or administrators in one-on-one coaching. Coaches will use the Gradual Release of Responsibility Model to assist their peers in implementing effective instructional and administrative practices. The coaching model offers a framework that describes the relationship between the coach and teachers/administrator as they work together. As the coach and teacher progress along the continuum, the coach reduces the level of modeling and support as the teacher implements new practices. The teacher assumes the responsibility for implementing the new learning while the coach provides feedback on issues identified by the teacher. Entry points along the continuum will vary according to teacher needs. Administrators and coaches share ideas on program improvement.
