  • Between the Lions
      Based on the award winning PBS TV show, this fun educational site uses songs and games to foster literacy skills while playfully demonstrating the joys of reading. The activites are research based.

  • Book Adventure
      Book Adventure is a FREE reading motivation program for children in grades K-8. Children create their own book lists from over 5,400 recommended titles, take multiple choice quizzes on the books they've read offline, and earn points and prizes for their literary successes. Book Adventure was created by the Sylvan Learning Foundation and is a non-profit organization.

  • Learning and Teaching about the Environment
      "This website provides K-12 students and educators with access to quality homework resources, lesson plans and project ideas for learning and teaching about the environment. Environmental education (EE) is a multi-disciplinary approach to learning about environmental issues that enhances knowledge, builds critical thinking skills, and helps students make informed and responsible decisions."

  • Learning and Growing Together
      This is an interactive resource for parents about early learning and literacy. A teacher tour guide orally presents the information. Captions for what the teacher is saying are available.

  • National Geographic Explorer for Kids
      Adventures, activities, and information based on National Geographic projects. Contains links to other parts of the National Geographic site. Anyone who is interested in these topics will have a chance to interact with pictures and related text to build vocabulary and comprehension.

  • Sesame Workshop
      Sesame Workshop and Sesame Street were created as an "experiment" in 1968, and the show debuted on November 10, 1969. The series was designed to use the medium of television to reach and teach preschoolers, and give them skills that would provide a successful transition from home to school. The show gave children a head start and provided them with enough confidence to begin learning the alphabet, numbers, and pro-social skills.
