Cuyahoga County Adult Education TOP BANNER

Free classes for adults 18 and over are available throughout Cuyahoga County. Sixteen and 17 year olds may attend if they are withdrawn from school and have a work permit.

These self-paced classes are offered days, evenings, weekends and on-line and are held year-round. Small group, tutoring, large group, computerized and distance instruction are available. Classes can prepare to pass the Nursing Entrance Test, ASVAB tests or GED test. A GED Practice Test is available and can not only tell you if you are ready to take the GED but give you fee waiver so that the GED test is free. Each program has its own schedule for GED Practice testing.

The classes can also help prepare you for post secondary education following receipt of your GED, or obtaining employment or a promotion. Classes may include Reading, Math, and English, English skills for immigrants, Family Literary, and Workplace Literacy (classes may be at your job). Adults with or without a high school diploma may attend basic skills classes to improve their reading, writing and math ability. Students may access most programs using RTA. Day care is available at some sites. All programs are accessible to disabled individuals.
