Since September 2002, The Ohio Literacy Resource Center (OLRC) http://literacy.kent.edu/, in collaboration with the Ohio Board of Regents Adult Basic and Literacy Education (ABLE) Office http://uso.edu/network/workforce/able/, has worked with; ABLE-funded sites to establish, develop, and implement distance-learning environment.

For Fiscal year 2011, five Ohio ABLE programs serve as Distance Learning Hubs, which coordinate with their Referring Partners (RPs)to provide instruction in basic skills, GED preparation, and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).
