ABLELink FAQ

1. Can you re-think ABLELink being available in Access 97 only?
Answer: Not for the 2000-01 program year. We understand that some programs may have upgraded their systems to Access 2000; however, Access 2000 cannot open ABLELink and should not be used for ABLELink purposes.

2. Will the Progress Form be incorporated into ABLELink?
Answer: Yes, programs will be able to enter data onto the Progress Form in ABLELink in the same way that they can enter data onto the Registration and Exit forms.

3. Will we be able to use a template to enter FY 2000 and FY 2001 APR data the way we did in FY 1999?
Answer: No. There will be no template capability for FY 2000 or FY 2001. Data for all students must be accurately and completely entered into the system for programs to generate data reports.

4. Do we have to enter progress information into ABLELink?
Answer: Yes. Progress data should be entered into ABLELink on a regular basis. We recommend that data be made current every calendar 90 days.

5. What type of ABLELink system will be available for July 1, 2000?
Answer: Version 3.0.

6. What version of ABLELink do we need to do our FY2000 Annual Performance Report?
Answer: You will need version 2.0.

7. Will we receive more ABLELink training?
Answer: Yes. There is training currently scheduled. Please check with OLRC if you are not aware of these training dates.

8. Do we enter students into ABLELink when they have fewer than 12 hours of contact time?
Answer: Yes, but only after they have completed orientation.

9. Will ABLELink and the new reporting system eliminate individual teachers from having to do an APR?
Answer: It should, although there may still be some tables that your director will require you to complete. This is a decision that you and your director will have to make.

10. Will ABLELink pick up on enrollment form errors?
Answer: ABLELink will continue to provide programs with the capacity to run "error validation reports" to identify incomplete student data information that is outstanding in local programs' ABLELink databases.
