Other/Misc FAQ

1. Do we still need 10 students per class?
Answer: No. The state will no longer specify a flat minimum enrollment or attendance policy. It will, however, negotiate expected total enrollments across all educational functional levels and a total projected enrollment for each project period. It is the responsibility of local staff to monitor and manage individual class size and attendance.

2. What is the rule regarding on-site program reviews? Are they at our own discretion or by request?
Answer: Decisions have not been made relative to resumption of on-site reviews or their structure. Once resumed, they are expected to follow the structure of the state performance accountability system.

3. How does Equipped for the Future (EFF) fit into orientation?
Answer: If your program has adopted the EFF framework, your orientation component should include the necessary components of EFF while keeping the integrity of the Student Experience Model intact.

4. How do we train new teachers?
Answer: The Regional Resource Centers will still hold New Teacher Training every year. O-PAS will be part of this training. In addition, programs will have a set of the O-PAS teleconference videos for teachers to view. The U.S. Department of Education is also developing an on-line training site for states.
