Native Language Literacy Screening Device (NLLSD)
The New York State Education Department unveiled a new Native Language Literacy Screening Device (NLLSD) this fall to help practitioners assess the native language literacy levels of learners. Information gleaned can assist with placement and instructional design to meet learners' needs. The NLLSD contains 27 language versions of the screening device. An administrative protocol that offers suggestions both for using the device and interpreting its results also is included. Copies sell for $15.00 plus shipping.

Multicultural Curriculum
Evidence of Democratic Principles and Multiculturalism in Our Schools  A 3-part online activity designed to help educators explore the following questions: "...How do we ensure that all students are given equitable rights and responsibilities within our school community? What principles of democracy are most critical in decisions about classroom and school-wide subject matter and policies? How does the school environment in which one presently works reflect a strong value of democratic principles?" 
Celebrating Our Nation's Diversity The statistical information, gathered from the 1990 Census of Population and Housing, may help you teach your students about our country's diversity. 
Teacher's Corner Includes online resources, archives, and lessons. Historic speeches and documents, Native American literature, and African American literature are included. Quite extensive.
The Internet African American History Challenge©  The Internet African American History Challenge© is an Internet based curriculum enhancement tool for high school Black History education programs. This site offers teachers an an online grade book to to track student progress through the site.

National MultiCultural Institute NMCI's mission is to increase communication, understanding and respect among people of different racial, ethnic and cultural backgrounds, and to provide a forum for discussion of the critical issues of multiculturalism facing our society. 
Multicultural Pavilion Provides resources for educators to explore and discuss multicultural education; facilitates opportunities for educators to work toward self-awareness and development; and provides forums for educators to interact and collaborate toward a transformative, critical pedagogical approach to multicultural education.

In Motion In Motion Magazine is a multicultural, online U.S. publication about democracy.
OneWorld OneWorld Magazine is a free electronic publication on the Internet, that focuses on environmental, cultural, and exploration issues around the world. Its stories, articles and promotional content aim to entertain and educate the reader with powerful words and forceful images about the diverse aspects of our world's cultures and environments. The magazine's philosophy is that not only biological, but cultural diversity is essential for the evolution of the planet; that is, if we are to live as one world, we must embrace, or at least understand, many. 
Standards STANDARDS is the first international journal for multicultural studies on the web. We are commited to providing an open forum for a broad spectrum of multicultural issues, in the U.S. and around the world. 
The International Education Webzine TIPS' mission is to help members of the international school community by providing them with easily accessible, useful information, a place to add their own ideas and experiences, and a forum in which to discuss it all.
Interracial Voice  Published every other month as an independent, information-oriented, networking newsjournal serving the mixed-race/interracial community in cyberspace. This electronic publication advocates universal recognition of mixed-race individuals as constituting a separate "racial" entity and supported the initiative to establish a multiracial category on the 2000 Census.
