1. Saw a piece of masonite into a rectangle 15 by 12 inches.

2. Drill 2 holes 1 inch from the top. The holes are 5 inches apart.

3. Cut a piece of cord for the handle 12 inches long. You can add a length of plastic straw as a handle, too.

4. String it through the holes and tie it into a loop.

Brainstorm all kinds of art paper to use with the lap board. If kids have scrap paper, they will write and draw more.
