This site is designed to assist adult literacy eduators and other professionals gain enhanced knowledge and practical advise about ways they can best help students who are suffering from domestic violence and/or to facilitate discussions about domestic violence and related topics in adult literacy classrooms. Some of the resources available on this web site include definitions and facts about domestic violence, a listing of Ohio shelters, resources and hotlines, safety planning resources and links to discussion groups and other related topics. It is our hope that this site will enable adult literacy educators and other professionals react to their students reports of domestic violence in a life-affirming, supportive manner so that the student(s) reporting the abuse will feel safe enough to seek additional help in order to keep themselves safe.
