ArtisanCam aims to be simple and easy to use. We aim to keep text to a minimum and you will be guided through the site with instructions such as 'enter here' or 'watch here'. Each featured artist has their own banner heading specific to their activity. Each page has a 'back to homepage' link in the top right hand corner and the ArtisanCam logo returns you to the main homepage.
If you are working in a school you will find lots of ideas across the site to help you deliver a creative curriculum. Each featured artist has sections on Techniques, Influences and a Gallery which give you more information about their work. The Questions section is largely made up of questions submitted by children. Once you have sampled all that, it is time to have a go yourself! Pupils and teachers alike can learn by trying a classroom workshop led by an artist or a virtual activity.
On these pages, you will find topics ranging from the extensive collection of Yup'ik masks and stories, a project done in collaboration with the National Museum of the American Indian, to the exploration in "Stylistic Journey" of how new technologies are shaping museum visits and experiences. Many of the CHICO websites include resource materials for K-12 students and teachers, and all are invited to explore in greater depth the topics here presented.
