Middletown Innovation Grant Lessons

Middletown ABLE teachers received professional development on Unpacking the Standards where they chose power standards for the Basic Math, Reading and Writing Certificates (EFL 4). They worked with Butler Tech to identify skills and knowledge necessary for students to be successful in post-secondary and career education. Throughout the year they submitted lesson plans that incorporated content from various career pathways or related to life skills in order to extend and apply students' knowledge beyond the ABLE classroom. Most of these lessons are generic enough to be used by any ABLE program and are organized by ESOL and Butler Tech programs: Medical Fields, Study & Life Skills, Industrial Fields, Police & Fire Academies.
