Interactive The goal of an interactive
journal is to encourage immediate/brief or extended/reflective reader
response. You may want to promote reader response by a) inserting
questions, b) highlighting or embedding information only a few readers
might want to check (as was done here) or c) by asking readers to
suggest modifications or changes in recommended strategies.
Branching The goal of links or
branching is to enable readers to find exactly
what they need. Recommendations for further
reading, media sources, etc. can be offered as
an insert or link. If you wish to keep the main
article short but realize some readers might
want more information, you can provide separate
inserts or links for this information.

Quantitative data Quantitative data
here refers to things like pre- and post-test
scores, ratings on a questionnaire, counts of
behavior (e.g., number of times the student uses
context), etc.
Qualitative support Qualitative support
here refers to information gathered in actual
teaching setting--e.g., anecdotal data, comments
students make when they use a strategy, actual
examples of student's responses as they are
influenced by the context, etc.
