Quick and Easy High School Reading Assessments - Reliability InformationPassages subjected to two readability formulas (Flesch-Kincaid and Dale-Chall) and met validity criteria for passage difficulty and grade level appropriateness. Passages were also pilot tested with students at appropriate grades for passages. Based on initial readability calculation, student performance, and student comments, passages were revised. We found that student performance on the passages was within theoretical expectations and that reliable measures of performance were obtained. Thus, based on determination of readability levels and actual implementation with students we conclude that the passages meet expectations for validty and reliability. |
