Tutor's Challenge:
Longtime Students

*Sara
Adult Literacy Center

I have been working with the same adult for over six years now. He seems to have "topped out" but still reads at a beginning level. He comes reguarly (twice a week) and seems to get a lot out of the sessions--socially and in other ways. He says he wants to keep working at reading. Should I encouarge him to come in or suggest he stop coming? If you think he should still come, what other goals could we work at?

*Sara is really three adult literacy tutors who presented this issue orally. They have been tutoring for varying periods of time but none for more than three months. I tried to keep their wording and voice here. nb
